Spent the last 8 years working for the Department of the Navy testing software as a federal employee and as a contractor. This testing involved writing test procedures, test programs, and analysis programs. Tests were performed in accordance with waterfall and agile methodologies. Spent 6 years in the US Navy guarding and maintaining the launch system for Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBM). This required a high standard of performance and procedural compliance. This also required qualification for submarine warfare in a rigorous process designed to test personnel in security, firefighting, and damage control while in a stressful environment.
Transitioned to federal employment for the Department of the Navy and performs the same duties as listed under CACI. In addition to those duties, tested SLBM Fire Control System (FCS) in agile development projects as a tester for the development team and as an independent verification and validation tester. Ensure customer needs were met as Product Owner for a training system developed under agile development. Uses knowledge of waterfall, agile, and the system being developed to mentor and train junior personnel.
As a member of an Integrated Testing group supporting NSWCDD, tested SLBM FCS software in waterfall development projects. This includes preparing test procedures based on supporting documentation and requirements and developing tools for analyzing test data and binary files. Any issues with the software or supporting documents required the drafting and submitting of Problem Reports (PR). PR resolution involved collaborating with the programmers at NSWCDD and General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) and retesting the software after resolution of the fault. As part of the testing and preparations for testing, developed shell scripts to automate mundane tasks. Testing occurred in the weapon system Engineering Test Stations.
Maintained the Trident II D-5 Launch System Onboard the USS Kentucky SSBN 737. Qualified Senior in-rate: Launcher Supervisor and At-Sea Fire Control Supervisor. Qualifications include Enlisted Submarine Warfare Qualification, Quality Assurance Craftsman, Nitrogen Charging Petty Officer (requiring Oxygen Clean Worker certification), Small Arms Supervisor, Work-center Supervisor, Administrative Laser Safety Officer, just to name a few. Attended a course for Quality Assurance Inspector. Led maintenance planning and execution for the Strategic Missile Division as the leading petty officer. Inserted faults during training evolutions.
